Educational and methodical work at the Department "Automation and Information systems" is carried out in accordance with the curriculum of disciplines, the work plan of the Department, individual work plans of teachers.
Educational and methodical work is aimed at improving the methods of teaching disciplines, direct methodological support of the educational process, improving professional development of the teaching staff and includes:
* Working out, updating and approval of curricula for specialist training.
Working curricula of specialties are drawn up on the basis of standard plans and approved by Academic Council of the Institute.
The curricula are developed using a modular system that allows to improve the quality of education, mobility of students, continuity of all levels of education.
The curriculum includes catalogues of elective disciplines (CED) - a component of choice, according to which students have the opportunity to choose a discipline and a teacher. Educational programs for elective courses are designed to match the profile of bachelor training.
Modular educational programs (MEP), the content of elective courses are agreed with employers. Adjustments are made to the list and content of disciplines taking into account their opinions and suggestions. Thus, the catalog of elective disciplines is updated annually before the beginning of the school year, taking into account the needs of the labor market.
* Methodological support of disciplines.
Teaching disciplines of the Department and their methodological support is based on the formation of educational-methodical complexes of disciplines (EMCD).
The teaching materials include the standard (or training) programs, working training programs (syllabus), lecture complex, methodical instructions to practical classes, laboratory and course work, methodological developments in the organization of the ISW and ISWT, a card of literature availability, the materials on monitoring and evaluation of educational achievements.
The development quality of syllabuses, educational and methodical complexes, methodical developments and recommendations on types of educational activity of students is provided by collective examination of materials and obligatory approval at a meeting of the Department.
All the necessary methodical documentation is given to students at the beginning of the semester and is available in electronic form in the folders of teachers in the network environment.
* Conducting methodical seminars at the Department
A prominent place in the system of improving the educational and methodical level of teachers take methodical seminars at the Department. At these seminars, teachers make presentations on improving the methodological level of teaching disciplines; development of innovative, interactive technologies; new directions and achievements in the profile of specialties of the Department.
* Mutual attendance of classes by teachers of the Department and demonstration classes.
In order to improve the methodical and information support of the disciplines taught, to improve the quality of professional skills, transfer of best teaching experience at the Department there is a schedule and a journal of mutual attendance of the Department teachers and demo classes.
Demo classes are held to demonstrate the exemplary organization and methodology of classes, including the use of new educational technologies, interactive methods and technical means of training.
The results of mutual attendance and demo classes are reflected in the attendance sheet and the minutes, where the main comments, suggestions, recommendations are indicated and the lesson is evaluated.
Every six months at the meetings of the Department to discuss the issue with the analysis of public lectures and mutual attendance of the faculty of the Department for the current semester.Methodological support of production practices.
The main provisions for practical training are defined in the cross-cutting program, which provides a single integrated approach to the organization of practical training, systematic and continuous training of students. The through program of practice defines the goals and objectives of the practice, its timing, organization issues; takes into account the specifics of the specialty, especially the bases of practice and the conditions of its passage.
Different types of practices are carried out in accordance with the curricula. Educational practice is conducted at the Institute. On the job practice and pre - diploma practice are in third-party organizations (enterprises).
Information about the type of practice, its timing, organization and form of reporting is reported to the student at the beginning of the school year or semester. When sending a student to practice he is given all the necessary documentation (direction, diary). As a result of the practice, the final conference is held, where students submit reports and make reports on the progress of the practice.
For the organization of industrial and pre-diploma practice students signed contracts with the following enterprises and organizations: LLP " Bulat Nurzhanov Ekibastuz GRES – 1, JSC "Station Ekibastuz GRES-2", LLP "El-Nur-Service", SE " Zerde Specialized secondary school for gifted children with the state language of education ", etc.
Carrying out independent work of students (IWS).
Special attention at the Department is paid to the organization of independent work of students (IWS), which is carried out in accordance with the work program of each discipline. IWS is conducted in a variety of forms – writing essays, analytical reports, presentations, testing, oral interviews, etc.
In the implementation of the educational process interactive methods and techniques of learning: binary classes, problem lectures, end-to-end production situations, role-playing games are actively used. Technical means of training-interactive whiteboard, computer equipment, information resources are widely used.
